I am discovering the joy of Painting Furniture! It might be a bug I’m catching! I’ve had these old end tables for like ever. Since my husband and I got together over 10 years ago! WOW! Long time. They were a dark wood, with terrible cup rings on the tops, and they just needed….SOMETHING. SO i set out to make them look awesome!
I am using Heirloom Traditions Paint All in one Paint Heritage Collection in Cobblestone. ( That’s a mouthful) This is a Chalk paint that has a built in wax! OMG YES! FINALLY no more WAXING my chalk painted stuff….waxing is a hassle! Who needs it!? #notme
I painted inside my home, in my biggest bathroom. This paint has little to no smell at all so it didn’t bother me in the slightest to be in that small room painting away.
The first coat went on smooth, and I stippled to give the paint some texture for the next coat to hold onto. Look at those back legs. DARK! TOO DARK!
This paint goes on smooth and dries pretty well between coats, but remember it needs CURE time and this says 24-48 hours on the jar. So make sure you let your piece do that, or they won’t be fabulous!
I tried to take some progress shots so you can see all the intricate detail on the sides.
look how pretty that is!?
This is my husband’s side table, as you can see he turns his so he fills the space more, but it just looks GREAT on that blue accent wall!
this project was EASY and took only a few hours of work time (remember to let them cure after you’ve done the work!) and I just can’t rave enough.
Would you have done something different? Distressing? Different color? What are your thoughts on this Chalk Painted Furniture Piece?
